Careers

Configo Software is a recent startup business with an extraordinarily ambitious vision and incredible growth potential. We aim to revolutionise the way in which complex information systems’ configuration is managed, how changes are developed and operationalised with maximum confidence and minimum risk, and, through automated software migration, transform how the software market itself operates. While the business software market will be our starting point, the vision and potential extend far beyond that to any type of software and software-configured hardware, including medical testing devices, cloud infrastructure, operating systems, and consumer mobile devices and applications.

Configo is also a great place to work. We foster a collaborative work environment with encouragement of creativity, free exchange of ideas, and serious considerations of contributions from every team member. We will always strive to encourage respect for everyone’s individuality, professional and personal development, and work-life balance.

Business Development Manager

We are looking for an outstanding candidate who will kick-start the sales of our upcoming products, build durable partnerships with systems integrators and software vendors, and develop our sales operations.

While the product line is well defined, our sales operations have yet to be established. As you will essentially be starting from scratch, you will need to be self-motivating, and have the ability to strategise, find ways to approach and communicate with prospective clients, and build strong long-term business relationships. On the other hand, you will have a lot of autonomy and will be able to have a direct influence on the emerging operations of the business and a strong personal impact on the development of the company.

As the company grows, you will also be able to build a strong sales team around you. This is an amazing opportunity if you are ambitious, focused and capable.

Responsibilities

  • Our initial product will be in the ClickSoftware (now Salesforce, but this is about legacy products) market. You will be approaching Salesforce, business integrators and existing large customers in order to establish and develop relationships, and sell the initial versions of relevant Configo products, most likely in the context of migration from ClickSoftware.
  • As our product line matures, you will expand the market outreach into the Salesforce market using partnerships and other available sales channels.
  • You will establish and manage a CRM system of existing client outreach efforts, client projects and any related tasks.
  • You will assist customers with sales and order queries.
  • You will ensure customer satisfaction, initially on your own and later through your team, by collecting suitable feedback and helping the product team incorporate the findings into the product roadmap.
  • You will work with the management to continuously develop and refine the go-to-market strategy and product roadmap in line with lessons from existing customers.

Skills and Attitude

  • Experience of working in business development and sales environments.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A polished and professional telephone and in-person manner.
  • Organised, strategic and confident, able to develop a business development strategy, lead its implementation, evaluate its success, and adapt it as needed.
  • Honest, motivated, self-reliant, reliable, detail-oriented, persistent and creative problem solver that takes initiative and responsibility.
  • Willingness to learn, take advice, and participate in open and rational discussion about the merits of different proposals.
  • A high degree of empathy and ability to listen to customer stories in order to understand their needs. This is not a hard sales job; it is all about identifying win-win opportunities and building long-term relationships.
  • A high regard for excellent customer service.
  • Adaptability, confidence, positive attitude to work, and a generally friendly disposition.
  • Ability to build, inspire and lead a team of similarly minded colleagues, fostering an atmosphere of ambition, shared vision, teamwork, transparency and adaptability.

Work and Benefits

  • Full time (37.5h per week).
  • This position is global in nature, so you will likely be working from home. If local, it will be your choice to either be working from home or in the office.
  • 30 day holiday allowance (including public holidays) that will increase with time on the team.
  • Salary is negotiable, and will consist of a base salary, sales commission, and other agreed performance-based bonuses.
  • A share option scheme is currently under active consideration. You may become eligible once this is in place.
  • The position will be subject to a three-month probation period.
